Title: 10- Code (Rock Point #4)
Author: Freya Barker
Genre: Romantic suspense

Release Date: June 17, 2019
Hosted by: Buoni Amici Press, LLC.

As a forty-one-year-old mother of three boys, working two jobs, Marya Berger doesn’t have the time or energy to consider a relationship. Especially after a lifetime of poor choices in the romance department. But when the disappearance of a young boy strikes a little too close to home, and a younger man she’s tried to ignore offers his help, she doesn’t stand in the way.

Single father, Dylan Barnes, the junior member of the La Plata County FBI team at thirty-three, has his focus firmly on his job and his son, Max. He’s certainly not looking to complicate his life, when he finds himself at his son’s soccer game, sitting beside the spirited brunette he can’t get out of his mind. Fate, however, appears to have different plans.

When an unspeakable crime draws the attention of the FBI, Dylan finds himself torn between his job and his instinctive need to protect Marya and her boys.

10-Code knocked the wind out of me. This story was chaotic, frightening, heart wrenching, and quite important.

Marya Berger is a single mom who is raising three boys ages 8-13. She does the best she can and is lucky to have her mom nearby to give her a much-needed hand. Marya works two jobs and doesn’t have an easy life but truly loves her boys.

Dylan Barnes is an FBI agent who we’ve met in a few of Freya’s other books. He’s a single dad; his son Max is almost eleven years old and as it turns out, Max is also on Marya’s son, Liam’s, soccer team.

The two know each other because she works in Kerry’s bookstore. Kerry’s husband, Damian, is Dylan’s boss.

While watching their boys play soccer, so much is going on: The good stuff? These two are definitely into each other. We also get to meet Dylan’s fabulous mom, Beth, and her husband, Clint. Of course, I couldn’t help but fall in love with those two and how much love they have for Dylan and their grandson, Max.

Now … the rough part of the story stems right from that same soccer field. It’s frightening how something so sinister, horrifying, and evil is lurking around as two boys have been abducted.

There’s a sad but necessary message that shouts loud and clear from pages of 10-Code. I don’t have small children anymore, but those who do should take heed and be vigilant as to what their children are playing on their gaming systems and who they interact with.

This story will leave the reader on the edge of their seat as all the badasses who we love from Freya’s Rock Point series go full out in finding the scum of the earth harming these children. The anxiety and helplessness of everyone is front and center at the very same time Marya and Dylan are forming a brand new … something!

Freya Barker does it again and never disappoints her readers. The storyline blew me away, but the supporting characters bring so much depth that the pages are bursting as one chapter flows perfectly to the next.

10–Code is another gem by the one and only, Freya Barker. Five stars aren’t enough. I can’t recommend this one enough!

5-star review
“There is nothing like a book that sucks you in and doesn’t let up until the last page. Whitley Cox knows how to spin a tale with fabulous characters that you can’t forget! I loved Tori and Mark’s story, I loved how their story played out. Their attraction is so passionate and intense, you can feel the heat between them.” ~ Leslee Nevill (Amazon Reviewer)

5-star review
“This author did a great job touching on the subject of autism and how it affects the family. I loved how this series is going to be about each of Mark’s buddies and how they navigate their lives as single dads. I really am looking forward to the next book in this series.” ~Kelly Mentzer (Amazon Reviewer)

5-star review
“This story could not have been better! I love when an author writes a wonderful storyline for a person with special needs and does it very well. I have a child with special needs so this story grabbed hold of my heart, and so did little Gabe. A fabulous start to what promises to be an amazing series. The connection that Mark and Tori have is blazing hot but of course the whole employee/employer thing creates a conflict. Whitley Cox gave us a well written story, drama, humor, steamy scenes, tons of chemistry and a whole bunch of amazing characters. I can’t wait for book 2.” ~Cayson09 (Amazon Reviewer)

5-star review
“This was my first time reading a book like this and boy was my heart not ready! Mark is a single dad of a wonderful special needs son named Gabe. Finding someone who is good with Gade and meets all of their needs is a hard job to fill. After meeting Tori one day out of the blue, he knew that she was a perfect fit for his son Gabe. Little did he know that she was also the perfect fit for him! This book takes you on a heartwarming journey of understanding, love, and even loss. I couldn’t put it down. I cannot wait to hear the rest of the single dad’a stories! You get a little taste of each of them as an intro with Mark and Tori’s book and I want more!”~ Danielle (Amazon Reviewer)

“What are your plans this weekend?” she asked, feeling like she needed to keep the conversation flowing. When they grew quiet, her imagination took the reins and drove her train of thought straight into the gutter in Sexyville, USA. And that gutter was filthy!

He lifted one shoulder, passing her the dish towel so she could dry her hands after she removed the drain plug. “Poker night Saturday, then I think I might take Gabe to The Museum of Flight on Sunday. He loves it there.”

Right, his “dads’ club” and their weekly poker night.

What were they all like? Did they sit around bashing their ex-wives? Bashing women? Or was it more of a support group for the struggles of independent child rearing? Or were they typical men and didn’t talk about their feelings at all and just drank beer, ate junk food, grunted and gambled?

Probably the latter.

“Sounds like a good time. Do you really gamble away your money, or is it all for fun?”

He hung up the dish towel, his gaze sliding toward her. “Real money.”

She pursed her lips. “Wow. Maybe when I have two pennies to rub together again, someday I can take a trip to Vegas and sit at a poker table. Take in the action. The excitement. Are you any good?”

His smile was coy. “I win more than I lose.”

“That’s good.”

She needed to get going. She needed to get home, get away from the delicious-smelling single dad standing in front of her wearing a black T-shirt far too tight to leave anything to the imagination, and gray sweatpants she wanted to rip off him with her teeth.

“Well, I … uh … I guess I should get going. Those fish aren’t going to feed themselves.” She slid her hand along the cool quartz countertop, letting it ground her and bring down her body temperature. She was in a full-on inferno. The way Mark was looking at her … it was giving her false hope. It was giving her the wrong idea.

The wrong idea to be bad. To do bad, bad things.

Bad, bad fun things.

But, no she couldn’t go there.

Nope.

Not ever.

Not with her boss.

Not with the single dad.

His gaze never left hers as his head bobbed in a nearly indiscernible nod. “I guess so.”

Was that disappointment on his face? Were his eyes asking her to stay? Were they asking her to strip naked and bend over the counter?

Oh God … Uncle John eating chicken wings without a shirt on, his enormous, hairy, barrel chest covered in barbecue sauce, sitting in a kiddie pool with water wings and a floaty ring.

Phew. Crisis averted.

Keeping her hand on the counter for balance, because her faculties seemed to have suddenly escaped her, she went to move past him, only her fingers knocked something off the counter onto the tile floor.

“Shit,” Tori murmured. She glanced down, only to find Mark’s phone, of all possible things, on the floor. “Oh no!”

“It’s okay.” He bent down to get it.

She bent down too.

Just as her hand wrapped around the phone, his hand wrapped around her wrist. Electricity ripped through her the moment his fingers grazed her skin. A pulse so intense, so hot, so charged she felt like she’d stuck a fork into an electrical socket. She leapt back, dropping the phone and pulling her hand free from his grasp.

“Sorry.” He stood up.

Tori swallowed the lump in her throat, pushing down the emotions, the arousal, the pure animalistic lust she felt for the man standing in front of her. “I—I’m sorry. I hope I didn’t crack the screen.”

He turned the phone over in his big, sexy palm, a roguish grin pulling at the corners of his delicious-looking lips. “Not a scratch.”

She licked her lips. “That’s good.”

His eyes locked on hers. “Yeah.”

Tori’s mouth parted, little puffs of air coming out as if she’d just run a mile. Her heart beat rapidly in her chest, and her palms grew clammy.

Mark’s gaze burned into her. “Tori … ”

“Yes?”

“Ah, fuck!”

And then he was on her.

A Canadian West Coast baby born and raised, Whitley is married to her high school sweetheart, and together they have two beautiful daughters and a fluffy dog. She spends her days making food that gets thrown on the floor, vacuuming Cheerios out from under the couch and making sure that the dog food doesn’t end up in the air conditioner. But when nap time comes, and it’s not quite wine o’clock, Whitley sits down, avoids the pile of laundry on the couch, and writes.

A lover of all things decadent; wine, cheese, chocolate and spicy erotic romance, Whitley brings the humorous side of sex, the ridiculous side of relationships and the suspense of everyday life into her stories. With single dads, firefighters, Navy SEALs, mommy wars, body issues, threesomes, bondage and role-playing, these books have everything we need to satisfy the curious kink in all of us.

Title: Bad Company: A Stepbrother Romance
Author: S.L. Sterling
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: May 31, 2019

“OMG!! This book is AMAZING!! The drama and turmoil the characters go through feel so real that you have to know what will happen next. Definitely, a must read!”

Logan
From the moment we met, I despised Leah as much as she hated me. It only made matters worse when my mother became involved with her father. So, ten years ago, I moved away. But when I come back for the big anniversary party, the rivalry has disappeared and we’re being congratulated for putting aside our differences. What they don’t know is that if I get my way, tonight we’ll be sharing a room…
Leah

From the moment we met, I did everything to get Logan’s attention. All that he’d direct toward me were mean pranks often leaving me in tears. Even when he left for ten years, I still tried to get his attention. It took me a long time before I finally gave up. When Logan shows up unannounced for the big anniversary party, I expect the worst case of rivalry yet, but instead, we’re actually getting along, and everyone is thrilled. And when I end up finding out the truth of why he is back, it shocks me to my core.

I was dying to ask her where she was, if she still lived here, how she was doing, who she was dating or married to, but I couldn’t give myself away. If my mother thought for a second that I cared, she would wonder what was going on. I didn’t need her to be suspicious. I left the topic of Leah alone and soon we were wrapped up in conversation and we passed the afternoon away talking and getting reacquainted. It had been so long since I had seen my mom, and it was nice to just spend the time talking with her. I missed her a lot. I had been so wrong before I left, and I felt the need to apologize to her, Joe had looked after Mom just the way she had said he would. I had been foolish to think otherwise.

Shortly before dinner, Mom had to run out to the store to grab a couple of things for the dish she planned to make. She had offered to take me with her but with the time difference and all the travel I was tired, so I decided to just stay and hang out until she got back. I put the magazine down I had been reading and wandered into the kitchen. A sense of déjà vu came over me as I grabbed a glass and opened the fridge looking for juice. I poured the cold orange liquid into the glass and shut the door and that was when my eyes caught her beautiful red hair. I stared for a moment, taking her in, and then I let my eyes wash slowly over the rest of her, it was like I was on sensory overload. The outfit she wore accentuated her soft curves, I wanted to run my hands over them, and my mouth nearly watered at the sight of her lips. She stood leaning up against the door frame her arms crossed in front of her. “What are you doing here?” she asked, a smirk playing on the corner of her mouth.

I could barely take my eyes off her, she had grown up, and the way her green eyes danced over my body told me she was as happy to see me as I was her, or so I hoped. “Well, someone didn’t send me my usual Valentine’s Day letter, so I came to get it in person.”

“Don’t hold your breath, Logan, there is no letter.” She walked over and took the juice out of my hand and brought the glass to her lips. I stared at those perfect kissable lips, the ones I had dreamed of kissing for the past ten years. She never took her eyes from mine as she drank the cold liquid. “You know I never loved you.”

She placed the cold glass back in my hand. I watched her eyes do another quick sweep of my body, then she turned and looked over her shoulder at me, smiling, before heading upstairs. I firmly planted my eyes on her tight ass as she walked away from me. I wanted so bad to grab it and pin her against the wall and do things to her that I shouldn’t even be thinking about doing. Instead, I quickly averted my thoughts and my eyes when I heard the front door slam and my mother came into the kitchen carrying a bag full of groceries.

“Logan, what on earth is wrong?” she asked looking at me.

“What do you mean?” I asked as I took a sip of the orange juice, still imagining Leah’s kissable lips on mine.

“You look like you did when you were ten years old, as if you were doing something you shouldn’t be.” She laughed.

Just thinking of fucking my stepsister ten ways to Sunday, I thought to myself. I finished my juice and then helped Mom put the groceries away.

Her fingers rub against each other like they’re trying to control themselves. Does she want to reach out and touch me? The thought of her being nervous makes me smirk. Her eyes scan up my legs, to my bare chest, and stop on my lips. She bites down on her own, and I can’t help but notice the pink hue on her chest.

She’s losing it. There’s a power in that, an exhilaration that’s hard to ignore. I need to remember to lose the shirt more often.

“I never noticed…” she whispers, moving her hands down to her sides. “I mean, I noticed. I just never…”

“Allowed yourself too long to appreciate it.” I move toward her.

“Right.” Her chest rises and falls rapidly, like she has zero control of herself.

“And what about now? Are you going to allow yourself?” My last step brings me to her feet, and I straddle one leg while standing above her.

Her chin lifts, and her hair skims over her back. “It’s probably not a good idea.”

“Sometimes the bad ideas are the ones that change our lives, Hannah. Let me change everything.” I lean down, inching my lips closer to hers. “I know you said you didn’t want me to kiss you yet, but…”

My pupils dilate. “Is that—”
“A collar, for a filthy pet,” he says, biting his lip.
“But …” I mutter.
“You didn’t think I’d let you get off that easily, did you?”
He approaches me with the collar and goes to one knee as he wraps it around my neck and locks it into place before I can even raise a finger. I scratch at it and tug it away as he attaches the chain.
He tips up my chin. “Don’t fight it.”
Then he gets up, still holding the chain. I’m like a dog on a leash … and the dirty grin on his face makes me want to bite his face.
My nostrils flare. “How long does this thing stay on?”
“As long as I want it to,” he replies. “As long as it takes for you to learn your lesson.”
“What lesson?”
“That you don’t get to turn away from me. That you don’t run away from a man like me. That you don’t … go and fall for another man’s charms.” There’s a hint of betrayal glimmering in his eyes.
