Title: Under a Different Sky
Series: Hand Over My Heart Duet Book One
Author: Lindsey Iler
Genre: New Adult Romance
Release Date: June 10, 2019

My life is a mess.

I’m walking around with a black eye. My position on the hockey team is questionable at best, and if that’s not bad enough, I think I’m falling for my dead girlfriend’s best friend.

Every day, it’s a fight to feel alive, and yet, I drink to numb the pain. Everyone is standing back, watching me fall apart.

Everyone except Hannah. No matter how many times I push, she’s there to pull me back. She refuses to let me spiral any deeper. And after one kiss—she’s impossible to ignore.

Unfortunately, it seems she and I aren’t the only thing being kept a secret.

“What a phenomenal read, definitely one of my favourites from 2019.”- Ever Growing Book Obsession

“The author didn’t just make me feel the book. She made me live it, experience it and breathe it. I loved each and every swoon-worthy, heart fluttering, heartbreaking, painful and devastating moment. ” – K&M Sultry Reads, Meredith

“This book will pull you in, it will pull your heart strings, and in the end it will break you.” -Goodreads Reviewer/Bookstagrammer @Reading_Junkie28

“Under a Different Sky is intensely moving and downright soulful. This read will pull at your heartstrings, send your heart soaring, as well as rip it out entirely. All the feels, all the stars, and an epic read you can’t miss!”- SWBR Book Blog & Reviews, Sarah N.

Her fingers rub against each other like they’re trying to control themselves. Does she want to reach out and touch me? The thought of her being nervous makes me smirk. Her eyes scan up my legs, to my bare chest, and stop on my lips. She bites down on her own, and I can’t help but notice the pink hue on her chest.

She’s losing it. There’s a power in that, an exhilaration that’s hard to ignore. I need to remember to lose the shirt more often.

“I never noticed…” she whispers, moving her hands down to her sides. “I mean, I noticed. I just never…”

“Allowed yourself too long to appreciate it.” I move toward her.

“Right.” Her chest rises and falls rapidly, like she has zero control of herself.

“And what about now? Are you going to allow yourself?” My last step brings me to her feet, and I straddle one leg while standing above her.

Her chin lifts, and her hair skims over her back. “It’s probably not a good idea.”

“Sometimes the bad ideas are the ones that change our lives, Hannah. Let me change everything.” I lean down, inching my lips closer to hers. “I know you said you didn’t want me to kiss you yet, but…”

My pupils dilate. “Is that—”
“A collar, for a filthy pet,” he says, biting his lip.
“But …” I mutter.
“You didn’t think I’d let you get off that easily, did you?”
He approaches me with the collar and goes to one knee as he wraps it around my neck and locks it into place before I can even raise a finger. I scratch at it and tug it away as he attaches the chain.
He tips up my chin. “Don’t fight it.”
Then he gets up, still holding the chain. I’m like a dog on a leash … and the dirty grin on his face makes me want to bite his face.
My nostrils flare. “How long does this thing stay on?”
“As long as I want it to,” he replies. “As long as it takes for you to learn your lesson.”
“What lesson?”
“That you don’t get to turn away from me. That you don’t run away from a man like me. That you don’t … go and fall for another man’s charms.” There’s a hint of betrayal glimmering in his eyes.

Title: Ryan
Series: O’Connor Brothers
Author: A.S. Kelly
Genre: Contemporary/Sports Romance
Release Date: May 20, 2019

I’ve gone back: back to the place where it all started, where somebody else had the final say.

I did it out of love for my family.
I’m trying to rebuild my life, to stay standing, even though my legs hurt like hell. I’m concentrating on myself, on my career.

I’m ready to tear everything apart to try and keep it all together. To hate without feeling guilty for it, because hating others is the only way I know how to keep myself – the person I am – going; and I was doing it. I was strong. I was untouchable. I was invincible.
Actually, I was deluded.
I didn’t consider everything. I didn’t consider her: the only woman I really want to hate, but who gives me hope. A woman who turns your world upside-down, who entwines herself into your life even if she can only stay until tomorrow.
I’m not looking for tomorrow: I want a future. But I don’t believe in that anymore.
And I can’t turn back, not even for her.
My name is Ryan O’Connor, and I’m about to make a huge mistake. I’m about to let her believe in me, to take a chance. But she’d be betting on the wrong man. I’ve never been the right one. And she’ll be left accepting her bitter defeat.

Unfortunately, it seems she and I aren’t the only thing being kept a secret.

“Hannah Barnes, are you jealous?” A part of me, the tiniest segment of my brain, hopes she is. That isn’t something I’m ready to unload or try to begin to understand, though. She’s Mia’s best friend, but it’s hard to ignore the smile she seems to always sport when I’m around.
“Not even the slightest.” She gazes around the room. “I just feel sorry for girls who feel the need to be so obvious.”
“Unlike you, right?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“You know exactly what I mean. You think you go unnoticed, only coming up for attention when you want it. In reality, you just walking into a room makes some of these guys pant like– what was it? — dogs in heat?” I laugh, leaning back in my chair to get comfortable.
Everything I’ve just said is true. Hannah doesn’t date. At least not openly. She’s definitely not a virgin. When we were sophomores, a senior made sure of that, too happy to announce he hooked up with Coach’s daughter. One thing though about Hannah is that she doesn’t realize how much power she has in her tiny little body. Even the strongest willed person would crack under one of her knowing glances.
“What’s your point?” She shrugs, unmoved by my words.
“It was meant as a compliment, if you didn’t catch that.”
“No, I caught it, Nick. You think I’m pretty.” Her smirk grows slow, like a sunrise. “What I don’t understand is why you’re saying it.”
I laugh uncomfortably under her watch. “That makes two of us.”
